Best Products For Bottle Blondes

I talked about some of the challenges bottle blondes face in my post Bottle Blonde 101, but I only touched lightly on a few products for bottle blondes. Therefore, I wanted to give a more in depth list of my favorite products and why I've found these to be the best!

1. Purple Shampoos

The single most important thing you can buy to maintain your blonde color is a purple (or sometimes silver) shampoo. I've found one high-end and one drugstore favorite, Alterna Caviar Brightening Blonde Shampoo, and Shimmer Lights by Clairol. Alterna is my all time favorite hair care brand, however, I cringe every time I see the price-tag, so It's more of a luxury item than an every day buy. Shimmer Lights is definitely more of a budget friendly buy, and works very well! My only complaint would be the smell (not so nice) but the scent wont stay in your hair post-shower.

2. Hair Mask

Blonde hair is going to be inevitably dry and damaged from the chemicals, so a repairing and hydrating mask is essential. My all time favorite is Marilyn Hair Treatment from LUSH, but if you're looking for  more budget friendly option, the Argan Oil Mask from OGX is my pick.

3. Hair Oil

More than anywhere else, the chemicals will dry out your ends. To combat dryness and split ends run a lightweight oil through your ends both while your hair is damp and after styling. If you have a little money for a splurge, Alterna's Bamboo Kendi Oil is absolutely amazing. For a drugstore pick, OGX's Dry Lightweight Argan Oil does the trick.

4. Heat Protection

If you must use heat to style, (which I recommend staying away from!) make sure to use a good heat protection spray! Living Proof makes an amazing one, which has gotten fantastic reviews! Though Alterna's Caviar Heat Protectant is a bit pricey, all of their products are amazing, and the benefits to your hair are well worth it!
