5 Pieces for a Spring Refresh
Even though it's still thirty degrees in NYC, I'm still willing the weather to get warmer, and what better than to prep the closet for spring weather! I've been noticing a lot of trends popping up from watching runways, bloggers, and even just people around my office and school (who are all very fashionable considering I work at a luxury designer and go to fashion school). So here are a few pieces to add to your closet for spring!
MIDI
Midi skirt and dresses have been slowly gaining popularity for a little while, and I'm loving them! The knit dress I'm wearing to the left is SO comfy, cute, and under $60! And when It starts getting warmer, my go-to outfit is always a t-shirt and a midi skirt with sneakers!
PINK BLAZER
Pink is such a hot color right now, in every shade from bright fuchsia to baby pink, and it's seen most in pantsuits! If you're not fully comfortable rocking a full suit, just throw a blazer over a T-shirt and jeans, and you've just taken that from 'clothes' to an actual outfit!
PLATFORM SNEAKERS
One of my personal favorite new trends is the platform sneaker. All the height of a heel without the pain! They look just as cute with jeans or a pantsuit as they do with a dress! I have my eye of a pair of classic white Superga's, but if you're more daring, they have some with a raffia base that are to die for!
Silver Statement Earrings
This is a trend I've been noticing around the office and around my school A LOT, and it's actually a very simple way to look chic. Grab a pair of all-silver earrings (my favorites are these simple pointed leaf hoops and these hammered linked rings) and pair them with a t-shirt and jeans or a solid fitted sweater and a tailored pant. Bam, instant NYC cool-girl look.
Heeled Mules
One of my favorite types of spring/summer shoe! Mules are comfy, easy, and chic! Grab a block-heeled pair in a fun color like bright pink or yellow, or a simple pair to match everything like these black ones!
